A little practice. A quicker buzz.- At home: Train on your phone (Listen mode, buzz, 5 seconds), play the Daily Ten, drill Terms and Units.
- Practice night: the coach opens Arena on the laptop and turns on phone buzzers. Everyone taps Join a match (or scans the QR code on the board), taps their name and team, and buzzes on their own phone. Laptop keys and touch buttons work too.
- Leaderboard: every Arena match adds to the season standings on the coach’s laptop (points, correct, wrong, buzzes with no answer). Training time is counted on each phone and reaches the coach when you join a match.

Question set
Arena
- Coach: open this page on the laptop or projector, type the team or player names, and choose how people buzz (below).
- Phones (easiest): press Turn on phone buzzers. Players scan the QR code, tap their own name from your list, then their team. Their phone becomes their buzzer, so nobody shares a keyboard.
- No phones? Each name gets its own laptop key, because one keyboard cannot tell people apart. Touch buttons under the board work too. Or tick Coach picks so any key stops the clock and you tap who buzzed.
- Press Start match, then space for each question. Players say the answer out loud within 5 seconds. The answer key appears as soon as someone buzzes, and a phone that buzzed shows you what it heard. A clear spoken match is ruled correct and a clear miss wrong by itself; otherwise press Correct Y or Wrong N. After a wrong interrupt the question keeps being read for the other teams, who then get the buzz window.
Every player buzzes on their own phone. No app, no account. Phones and the laptop both need internet.
Match log
Join a match
The coach’s board shows a five-character match code and a QR code. Scanning the QR code fills in the code for you. Then you tap your name from the coach’s list.
Tap your team
Choose carefully: once the coach starts the match, your name and team are locked for the whole game.
How phone buzzing works
- The coach turns on phone buzzers in the Arena. The board shows a match code and a QR code.
- Scan the QR code, or open this app and tap Join a match, then type the code.
- Tap your name from the coach’s list (new names cannot be typed), then your team if there are teams. When the coach starts a question, your button lights up. Tap it the moment you know the answer, then say the answer out loud. Your phone listens and shows the coach what it heard.
- The board decides who was first, even between phones and laptop keys. A buzz that arrives a moment late still counts if it was pressed first.
- Keep this screen open. The phone stays awake while you are in a match.
- Joining shares your training time and weekly stats with the coach’s leaderboard. You can turn that off on the buzzer screen.
Leaderboard
Every Arena match played on this device is saved and stacked into season standings: points, correct and wrong answers, buzzes with no answer, early buzzes and rebounds. The coach’s laptop keeps the numbers, so nobody has to send anything.
Season standings
No answer: buzzed, then gave no answer in time. Early buzzes: right answers out of buzzes made while the question was still being read. Rebounds: right answers after another side missed.

Training time counts while someone is practising: Train, Daily Ten, Terms, Units, browsing and phone matches. It pauses after 90 seconds without a tap. Phones send their training summary to the coach when they join a match; anyone can also copy their card and send it.

Review boxes
Spaced repetition: a correct answer moves a question up a box and pushes the next review further out; a miss sends it back to box 1.
